The DC ABA values diversity, equity and inclusion in the field of applied behavior analysis, the provision of behavior analytic services to the community, and in research and technology in furtherance. We believe that we, as a professional networking organization, have a duty and an opportunity to ensure our accessibility by reflecting the values of diversity, equity and inclusion in all of our efforts. We strongly encourage qualified members to join our organization, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion, disability status, socioeconomic background, first language, country of birth origin, or country of legal emigration status.
DCABA is committed to being advocates for ethical and quality ABA. This begins by acknowledging our past and listening to the voices of people that had negative experiences while accessing ABA services. DCABA is working collaboratively in order to ensure our field maintains its efficacy as a science and successful treatment for those that benefit from a behavior analytic approach. As an organization, we have developed a Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) committee which includes working and listening to Autistic voices and other community stakeholders. This allows us to continue working towards meaningful, progressive, ethical ABA.
You can view our Executive Board here to meet our DEI coordinator or contact us for any questions or for more information.
